Originated from the Dominican Republic, the dance form follows a four beat rhythm. It is four steps on the side after which a pause with a pronounced movement of the hip. The steps of back and forth are quite simple. It is more of style that is involved in Bachata. The dance forms ranges from intermediate level to advanced level. It is the voice of the beat that you have to catch up to as it is quite rapid.
Bachata classes in Northeast Philadelphia is also played on bongo that is low. The timing of the dance varies from one individual to another. It is more like an informal dance by which body is moved. Some of the prime steps involved in Bachata are as follows:-
Box step- it is the traditional form of dance step in Bachata. The pattern of step is simple with the dancers coming in the square. It is more to do with tapping of the foot from right to left. When you perform as a couple, it gives a blend of intricate footwork. In fact, you can always open up the square box to create a plethora of variations.
Cha-cha step- the difference in the cha-cha step and box step is that in cha-cha you have to follow a three step succession. It is also regulated by footwork. The speed of the step is quick than the box step. In fact you can also transform it into the basic Bachata type whenever you feel like.
